Trans Joy Resistance is an organization dedicated to one simple idea:

BEING TRANS IS SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE.

Gender-diverse people have existed as long as there have been people. We are an integral part of the fabric that is humanity, and we always will be.

We have been shamans, priests, ministers.

We have been writers, painters, sculptors

We have been actors, directors, musicians

We have been doctors, lawyers, teachers.

We have been inventers, engineers, scientists.

There is not a single aspect of human life that has not been enriched by the actions of gender-diverse people.

Yet we live in a society where a very loud group of people want to erase us. And it can be hard to find joy in something that people are attacking you for.

But it’s there. In moments large and small, trans joy is there.

The first moment you put on a piece of clothing that felt like you. Getting the perfect haircut. Finding a community where you can be yourself. Seeing yourself in the mirror for the first time. Having someone get your pronouns right. Watching a sunrise and realizing that, despite everything, you are still here—and you are happy to be so.

And so many more.

Trans Joy Resistance is dedicated to helping create a world where all trans people can find that joy, whatever it may look like for them.

We provide educational services to help create a more inclusive world. We also offer guides to help people find entertainment made by trans people, for when you need to read, watch, or listen to something that helps you feel affirmed in yourself. We are linking to support groups and organizations for trans people across the country to help find community. We will be posting writings—poetry, essays, fiction—that highlight the joys and fascinations about being trans. On our Instagram and Youtube channels we will be posting videos about trans history, health care, media, and combatting the misinformation being spread about trans people and our lives.

If you are struggling to find the joy in being trans, let us help you. Because being trans truly is amazing.
